Abstract:The impact of AI chatbots on learners’ emotional experiences and cognitive learning has become a trending topic in aca? demic research, however, existing research findings have not yet reached a unified conclusion, resulting in unclear strategies for the ef? fective design and application of AI chatbots. In the light of this, the mechanism framework of AI chatbots’ influence on learning is constructed, and based on this framework, a meta - analysis of 42 international experimental and quasi - experimental studies is con? ducted. The analysis results show that AI chatbots can significantly enhance learners’ emotional experiences and cognitive learning out? comes, but this positive impact is moderated by multiple variables, including learning content, educational level, duration of interven? tion, specific pedagogical functions and design characteristics of AI chatbots. Based on these findings, concrete strategic recommenda? tions are proposed from four perspectives: product development, product use, technological advancement, and design optimization, ai? ming to provide a scientific basis for the efficient application of AI educational technology.
