The field perspective is an important“window”for observing university governance. Existing research is limited to meta- phors and“grafting”in the superficial sense of social field,lacking deeper theoretical structural and evolutionary exploration. Based on the field habitus theory,this article constructs a structural system of university governance field under the conditions of digital economy through theoretical analysis,and explains the underlying logic of field evolution behind the development of universities under the influ- ence of digital economy. The study found that the university governance framework consists of four metafields: the innovation capital field,the organizational energy field,the digital field,and the senior management ability field. The four metafields interact organically with each other,presenting a chain logical evolution mechanism of“capital supply contradiction - habitual transformation - capital ac- cumulation and optimal allocation - conflict resolution - field evolution - university development”as a whole.
