Abstract:The construction of new agricultural science is an important measure for Chinese agricultural and forestry universities to serve the rural revitalization strategy. Systematic evaluation of the performance of new agricultural science construction in agricultural and forestry universities is conducive to comprehensively grasping the quality of new agricultural science construction and solidly promo- ting the educational reform process in agricultural and forestry universities. This paper constructs the performance evaluation system of new agricultural science construction from the four aspects of talent training,teaching resources,scientific research and social reputa- tion,uses the entropy weight method to assign the weight of the evaluation index,and uses the TOPSIS method to comprehensively e- valuate the performance of new agricultural science construction in agricultural and forestry universities. The results show that the im- portance of performance evaluation indexes of new agricultural science construction in agricultural and forestry universities is talent training > scientific research > social reputation > teaching resources; The performance level of new agricultural science construction in 25 agricultural and forestry universities can be divided into four echelons: optimal group,fluctuation group,stability group and po- tential group,and there are great differences in the performance of new agricultural science construction in agricultural and forestry uni- versities among different echelons.
