Abstract:Under the background of“Double First - Class”construction,this paper investigates and analyzes the current situation of the career plateau of 501 teachers in 28 universities. The results show that the career plateau of university teachers is at an upper - middle level ( total average score = 3. 18 ± 0. 84) ,and there are significant differences in the career plateau of university teachers with different teaching experience,different marital status,different professional titles,different educational qualifications,different position types,different discipline categories and different types of university. The reasons for the differences include three aspects: society,u- niversity organizations and university teachers. Society,organizations and university teachers all need to make efforts to lower the career plateau of university teachers. In terms of society,it is necessary to create a good social atmosphere and formulate differentiated evalua- tion system,increase investment in university construction funds and improve salary system. In terms of organizations,it is necessary to improve the organizational evaluation system,create and develop teaching and scientific research teams,and strengthen psychological counseling services and training. In terms of university teachers,it is necessary to improve their own teaching and research ability and enhance their understanding of career plateau and higher education.
