Abstract:By analyzing the undergraduate training program of agronomy in Huazhong Agricultural University since the 1950s,and discussing the evolution of the training mode of agronomy professionals in the past 70 years,here are the findings: the training objec- tives of agronomy have always been adjusted in accordance with the needs of the agricultural industry and have been continuously adjus- ted from a single specialization towards a comprehensive and diversified development; the curriculum structure is gradually clear,show- ing the characteristics of agricultural sciences; the course hours are“two drops and one promotion”to support the comprehensive and personalized development of talents; basic education courses continue to expand,but the combination of professional education courses and industrial development is slightly insufficient; practical teaching is gradually differentiated from theoretical teaching,forming an in- dependent system,optimizing teaching goals around the needs of social development,and continuously expanding teaching content cen- tered on the development of professional basic skills. The training of agricultural professionals in my country should optimize the training objectives and promote the development of training objectives in the direction of specialization; should improve the curriculum system to reflect the frontier characteristics of the development of the agricultural industry; strengthen practical teaching to enhance the degree of support for the training of comprehensive talents.
