Ideological and political education in colleges and universities is based on the traditional grand narrative. The effective construction of socialist grand narrative must focus on the effectiveness of contents,process and results. As for the content,macro - narrative and micro - narrative will coexist for a long time,and macro - narrative needs to be renewed and reconstructed,so micro - narrative can not be obscured. As for the process,micro - narrative constructs and reflects on grand narrative,and individual voice sings the national discourse. As for the result,macro - narrative and micro - narrative complement each other,and socialism main- stream ideology interacts with individual daily life. Ideological and political educators should use daily life narrative,individual life nar- rative and diversity narrative to construct rational kingdom,national discourse and overlapping consensus,highlight the grand narrative of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era,and then realize the effectiveness of ideological and political education.
