Abstract:Under the guidance of the national“double - first - class”construction policy,many comprehensive universities in Chi- na have withdrawn their education colleges in the course of adjusting the structure of disciplines and specialties. Through the case study of G University’s Academy of Education,we find that the main reasons for its withdrawal include: it fails to effectively realize the or- ganizational intention at the beginning of its establishment,which leads to the questioning of the rationality of its existence by school de- cision - makers; owning to parasitic development of disciplines,it is difficult to highlight its own disciplinary characteristics; the cohe- sion of scientific research team and the ability to produce high - level scientific research results are weak; the right of stakeholders to participate in major school decision - making is not fully guaranteed. In order to promote the development of pedagogical disciplines in comprehensive universities,it is necessary to keep in mind the“original mind”of the disciplines,consolidate the rational status of its own existence,identify the development mode and cultivate the living space of pedagogical disciplines,seize the policy opportunity of constructing a new system of teacher education to participate in teacher education and consolidate the talent training basis for the devel- opment of pedagogical disciplines,give full play to the advantages of comprehensive universities,create the characteristics of education disciplines,and improve the acceptance inside and outside the university.
