Abstract:To explore the influence of parental rearing patterns on college students'academic adaptability and the moderating effect from social economic status,this survey was conducted among 1856 freshmen in the class of 2017 by using the College Students'Aca- demic Adaptation Questionnaire,Parental Rearing Pattern Questionnaire and Family Social Economic Status Questionnaire. The results turned out that: (1) the overall academic adaptability of college students is above average,but they are relatively weak in“learning motivation and attitude”and“self - cognition and psychology”; (2) in parental rearing,most of parents adopt democratic trust,care and love,and relatively few parents are indifferently apathetic or control type; (3) there are significant differences in demographic var- iables between college students'academic adaptability and parenting style; (4) the correlation of parental rearing patterns,family SES and academic adaptability reach significant level; (5) SES can moderate the predictive effect of father - controlled,democratic paren- ting style and mother's parenting style on academic adaptability.
