The construction of“double first -class”has brought about great adverse effects on some disadvantaged disciplines in colleges and universities,in which higher education is also involved. This paper analyzes the subject status of higher education from the following aspects: the origin,boundary,values,existing problems,and higher education crisis and makes a prediction on the future trend of higher education discipline.
